The name

In Japanese, uchi means the inside. Also home; also ours.

uchi opened in Gate Village in 2023: a sushi counter, a square whisky bar and the dining room around it.

It began as a childhood dream, tucked away for decades in an old wallet: our founder always meant to open a restaurant. The idea hasn't changed since — to turn an ordinary evening into an occasion.

The kitchen cooks to Japanese principles: patience, precision, and the honour of serving. The sea selection comes from Toyosu Market; the wasabi is fresh — rare in Dubai.

A square bar, lit like amber.

It sits at the centre of the room: rosewood tops, a front of Brazilian emerald green quartzite, and shelves of Japanese whisky under the warm glow of vintage Grande Mania sconces.

Our beverage programme brings Japanese whisky service rituals to the table — highballs, curated spirits, and the See U Shot.
